District 4 basketball playoffs begin this week. Coach Travis Quici is pleased with the many accomplishments of his team. The girls have been led by senior captains: Cypress Feltman, Marissa Coudriet and Alexis Stuck. The team once again had one of the most dominant defenses in the TVAA, only allowing 30 points per game. This has been a trademark of East Juniata Girls Basketball over the years. Coach Quici has led the Lady Tigers to winning seasons and playoff appearances the past 10 seasons. “With a strong core of young players in the pipeline, the future is bright for the Lady Tigers to continue to build upon the strong tradition that has been established,” says Coach Quici. The Lady Tigers will be traveling to Mount Carmel today (Feb. 22nd) to take on the Red Tornados at 6pm.

Coach Justin Hazel is in his second season as the Boys Basketball head coach. Both seasons, Coach Hazel has led the boys to the District 4 playoffs, last year leading them to the finals, only to fall short and take 2nd place. This year, the team was able to clinch the TVAA league title. There is a lot of depth to this team, led by Jake Brackbill, Tanner Barth, Owen Dressler, Rowan Smith and Dylan Wagner. Coach Hazel is excited with the way the boys have been playing this season and is hoping to make a run at the finals. The boys team will host Northwest in the first round of District 4 playoffs on Wednesday, February 23rd at 7pm.

Good luck to both teams! Go Tigers!
