JCSD Updated meal information
October 10, 2020
Dear JCSD Families:
On October 10, 2020, the USDA announced an extension to the Seamless Summer Option through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. We are able to provide a FREE BREAKFAST and a FREE LUNCH each day to all children 18 years and younger.
Starting September 8, 2020, one free breakfast and one free lunch will be available for each child. Second meals will be charged to your child’s account at the full price. Any items purchased a la carte are NOT free and will continue to be charged as before. This includes items such as chips, drinks, granola bars and ice cream.
Since this program is contingent on the availability of governmental funds, we will continue to process all Free and Reduced Lunch Applications. Please fill out your application as you have in the past.
To ensure each child has meals for the Friday Remote Learning Day, JCSD will also be distributing a breakfast and a lunch for your child to pick up before leaving their school building on Thursday. Each building will share more information on when and how the students are to pick these meals up before leaving at the end of the day. If you would like to opt out of the free meal distribution for Friday only, please submit a letter to your child’s principal.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact Chris Ammon, Metz General Manager at email@example.com or 717-436-2111 extension 5084.
